The Japan Water Forum is excited to announce that the “Youth Water Forum Asia 2024,” an international exchange event focusing on water for the youth generation, will be held on November 15th, 2024 (Saturday) at 1:00 PM in Daegu, Korea.
This event is part of the Capacity Development and Awareness Raising program “Youth Water Forum”, which began following the 4th Asia-Pacific Water Summit (APWS) held in Kumamoto City in April 2022. Following the first event held in Kumamoto in November 2023, this marks the second edition of the forum.
At the 2023 “Youth Water Forum Asia*” held in Kumamoto, high school students from Japan, Korea, and Indonesia participated, sharing information about water-related challenges and efforts in their countries. Lively discussions were held with experts on international cooperation to solve global water issues.
At the “Youth Water Forum Asia 2024,” high school students from various countries will present the water challenges and solutions specific to their regions. The event aims to share innovative solutions to water-related challenges and promote cooperation among the younger generation to exchange views on both local and global water issues.
Flyers for this event will be released later.
*The Youth Water Forum Asia serves as a follow-up event to further develop the outcomes of the official sessions “Youth Session – Local Action, Global Impact: Building Intergenerational Partnerships for Sustainable Water Management” at the UN Water Conference 2023 held at the United Nations Headquarters in March 2023 and “Promoting Intergenerational Cooperation for a Healthy Water Cycle” at the 10th World Water Forum held in Bali, Indonesia, in May 2024.
