The Japan Water Forum is excited to announce that the “Youth Water Forum Asia 2025,” an international exchange event focusing on water for the youth generation, will be held on Friday, September 19th, 2025, in Jakarta, Indonesia.
At the Youth Water Forum Asia 2025, high school students from Japan, Korea, and Indonesia will present the water challenges and solutions specific to their regions. The event aims to promote cooperation among the younger generation by exchanging views on both local and global water issues.
Two high schools from Japan selected through the “Youth Water Forum 2024 Video Submission” will participate onsite and present their water-related activities in English to the world.
This event is part of the Capacity Development and Awareness Raising program “Youth Water Forum,” which began following the 4th Asia-Pacific Water Summit (APWS) held in Kumamoto City in April 2022. It follows the successful events held in Kumamoto in November 2023 and Daegu, Korea in November 2024.
*The Youth Water Forum Asia serves as a follow-up event to further develop the outcomes of the official sessions “Youth Session – Local Action, Global Impact: Building Intergenerational Partnerships for Sustainable Water Management” at the UN Water Conference 2023 held at the United Nations Headquarters in March 2023 and “Promoting Intergenerational Cooperation for a Healthy Water Cycle” at the 10th World Water Forum held in Bali, Indonesia, in May 2024.

About the Youth Water Forum 2025 Video Submissions
The Youth Water Forum is calling for video submissions (in English, 2 minutes 40 seconds to 3 minutes) that convey themes related to water, targeting high school students (ages 15–18) from Japan and abroad. Content is flexible and can include water-related experiences, research on water, local volunteer activities or traditional events related to water, and international exchange activities concerning water.
