Asia-Pacific Regional Process Sessions of the 10th World Water Forum

The Asia-Pacific Water Forum (APWF) takes the lead in coordinating the Asia Pacific Regional Process of the 10th World Water Forum in collaboration with the Asia Water Council (Secretariat: K-Water) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The objectives of the Regional Process

  • Specify regional priorities and related tangible local action plans under Forum themes
    • Provide a regionalized voice and priorities
    • Develop, analyze, and present case studies and practices related to issues at the local and regional levels
  • facilitate  regional  dialogues  and  cooperation  on  local/regional  water-related  challenges and for solutions to those challenges
  • Catalyze  the  exchange of experiences,  ideas,  lessons, and  potential  solutions  among  different regions on common water issues within a region and through a set of inter-regional dialogues
    • Drives the political process through policy recommendations, commitments, and sharing of knowledge and experiences from a regional and local perspective

Asia-Pacific Regional Process of the 10th World Water Forum addresses the above at a sub-regional level. The sub-regions covered include Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Central Asia, the Caucasus, Oceania, and Pacific Island Countries.

There are 11 sessions based on these sub-regions. Additionally, we will host 5 sub-regional synthesis sessions.

Through these sessions, the Asia-Pacific Regional Process Coordinators will finally deliver key messages, breakthroughs, and pathways aligned with 5 guiding principles toward achieving water for shared prosperity in Asia and the Pacific. We are also preparing for the Asia-Pacific Regional Process Report in parallel with the planning session.

Session details, including the program and speakers’ names, will be uploaded on the 10th World Water Forum website (https://worldwaterforum.org/event/10th-world-water-forum-12/agenda) and the APWF/JWF Homepage when ready.
