Visit to the JWF by officials from the Ministry of Public Works and Housing of the Republic of Indonesia

On March 7th, officials from the Ministry of Public Works and Housing of the Republic of Indonesia visited the JWF, including Mr. Edy Juharsyah, director of the Bureau of Budget Planning and International Cooperation. This visit was prompted by the fact that the JWF was established in the wake of the 3rd World Water Forum, and has shown its continuing commitment to global issues discussed by the World Water Forum.

Mr. Edy Juharsyah explained the outline of the 10th World Water Forum, to be held this May. He also expressed his gratitude for Japanese support for various projects, particularly the construction of check dams. He thought it important that an organization like the JWF, which has relationships with a variety of stakeholders in Japan and abroad, had been established after the 3rd World Water Forum, and the details of its establishment were discussed.

When members of the JWF discussed progress of the Asia Pacific Regional Process and the Japan Pavilion for the 10th World Water Forum, an Indonesian official thanked the JWF for its efforts. All in attendance enjoyed a warm and friendly atmosphere.

The JWF will continue to foster a close relationship with Indonesia, beginning with the 10th World Water Forum. We look forward to the support of all stakeholders.
