・New Year’s Greetings

I sincerely wish all of you good health and continued success in 2026.
Thanks to the continued support of Japan Water Forum (JWF) members and many others, we have made steady progress over the past twenty years. Since its foundation, the JWF has been working with a strong commitment to addressing water issues through cross-sectoral cooperation.
When the World Water Forum was first held thirty years ago, its main focus was on water supply and sanitation. Since Japan hosted the 3rd World Water Forum in 2003, water-related disasters have been included as one of the main themes, reflecting Japan’s strong advocacy. Since then, water issues have been addressed within a wide-range of contexts, from environmental to, more recently, cultural. Water has become an important challenge for humanity in the 21st century.
On the international stage, the Japan Water Forum is recognized as a reliable key player in the Asia-Pacific region and continues to fulfill its responsibilities with devotion. Domestically, we have created vertical and horizontal connections through concrete activities, by collaborating not only with government ministries and related organizations, but also with local authorities, citizens’ groups, and inter-generational youth groups.
We renew our resolution to play a key role in the field of water, both in Japan and abroad, contributing to the realization of a sound water cycle society for the well-being of Japan and the international community. We look forward to and appreciate your continued support and cooperation.
