The 3rd World Water Forum Memorial Forest seeks to highlight the relation between forests and water and to make a lasting contribution to the outcomes of the 3rd World Water Forum. The ceremony is an initiative of the Forestry Agency of Japan, Water and Forest Committee, National Land Forestation Promotion Organization. The Forestry Agency expects Japanese government administrators, foreign government administrators, ministers, representatives of international organizations and local NGOs, volunteer groups, media, and many more to attend the tree planting ceremony in the National Forest in the city of Omi-hachiman, Shiga Prefecture.
