Since the world’s water issues concern the future of our world, it is important for young people to develop their own responsibilities in this field. Based upon this understanding, the Youth Water Forum was established to provide an opportunity for young people from all over the world to exchange their ideas on water issues. The first meeting of the YWWF was held in June 2001 in The Netherlands. （In response to the YWWF, Japanese youth decided to create the Youth Water Japan and its Kick Off Meetings are scheduled in November 2001.）
