It's now decided: Kyoto City has been selected as the venue of the 3rd World Water Forum, to be held in March of 2003. The Forum aims to work for action on the World Water Vision which came out of the 2nd World Water Forum in the Hague.
Exotic, ancient Kyoto, with its temples, shrines, and castles, (fifteen of them World Heritage edifices), and its long history of water management, will be the scene of deliberations over global water issues.
Basin-wide forum format
Kyoto will be the primary location of Forum activities, but some Forum sessions will take place in Kyoto's neighboring prefectures, Shiga and Osaka, which share the Yodo River basin with Kyoto. World Water Forum's basin-wide co-hosting symbolizes the integrated watershed cooperation which is essential to the solution of water problems around the world.
A conference for all The Forum
Preparatory Secretariat welcomes a broad spectrum of delegates and guests, from stakeholders to private citizens, to assure that the 3rd World Water Forum will
fulfill the motto, "A conference for all."
