The Asia-Pacific Preparatory Process towards the 4th World Water Forum Go to SCHEDULE Basic organization The Asia-Pacific preparatory process towards the 4th World Water Forum will be on a sub-regional basis. The Asia-Pacific region is divided into 5 and coordinators and the JWF liaisons officers are appointed to each sub region as follows; Sub-regions Coordinators JWF Liaison officers Northeast Asia Korea Water Forum Mr. Hideki Sawa Southeast Asia GWP SEA Ms. Noriko Yamaguchi South Asia GWP SAS Ms. Yukari Tsuzuki Central Asia GWP Cacena Mr. Shigenori Asai Oceania & Pacific SOPAC Ms. Shinobu Fukumoto OVERALL COORDINATION Ms. Taeko Yokota The sub-regional approaches include: 1) communication through the mailing list; 2) sub-regional meetings; and 3) synthesis regional meeting. Sub-regional Meetings (SRM) (a) Objectives Finalize the sub-regional part of the "Regional Document"[1]: approx. 10-15 pages including sub-regional issues, activities and local actions (good practices) Select the local actions from the sub-region (SR) Discuss the possible inputs from the sub-region to the Baseline Documents [1] Requirement from the Secretariat of the 4th World Water Forum and its deadline is the end of October. (b) Roles of sub-regional coordinators Draft the sub-regional part of the "Regional Document" and collect the comments through the sub-regional mailing list and website of the sub-regional preparatory process on the JWF Website Collect and list the local actions from the sub-region Announce the sub-regional meeting to the stakeholders in the sub-region and coordinate their participations Logistics arrangement of the sub-regional meeting in cooperation with the JWF sub-regional liaison officers (c) Roles of JWF and its sub-regional liaison officers Draft and finalize the agenda of the sub-regional meeting in cooperation with the sub-regional coordinators Communicate with the Secretariat of the 4th World Water Forum, Beacons and other key stakeholders and coordinate their participations Provide the information on the website Synthesis Regional Meeting (a) Objectives Synthesize the sub-regional process Finalize the "Regional Document" with adding the common message from the Asia-Pacific region.
